I had the honor to be in charge in creating the layout for the newspaper, recreating the new logo, making additional assets, and managing the online website using SNO Sites during my time at Suffolk County Community College in 2020-2022. Additionally, I helped and assisted with communicating with writers, pitching in new issue ideas, and contributing as a lifestyle writer.
🚩 Redesigning Flagship
My first task was recreating a new flagship and modernize to fit the new digital age while adding important information, which the previous one was missing. Since Suffolk County Community College has many campuses, the information about the location was very important due to the other campuses also having their on newspaper.
Without losing the original touches such as the 'i' being the lighthouse and the cursive typeface, I decided to not change it. I played around making sure that the newspaper name is the highest of hierarchy while including the collage campus location.

💻 Online Newspaper
One of the most important thing that my advisor wanted was to officially make the newspaper online accessible besides using an interactive PDF. I had the honors to work behind the scenes using Sno Sites. From creating the website from scratch, making the color scheme, categories, and to additional elements that were needed. After the articles were proofread by my collogues, I was in charge of uploading them onto the website.
